What is KYDOS?
KYDOS is a fitness app for tracking your workouts, building your Activity Bars, and earning your Glory Index. It includes route tracking, strength logging, hydration and nutrition tools, longitudinal health trends, and KYDOS Coach guidance during workouts.
Which devices does KYDOS work with?
KYDOS is built for iPhone, with the Apple Watch as a first-class companion for live metrics and verified health data. On Android, KYDOS reads and writes fitness data through Health Connect.
Do I need an account to use KYDOS?
No. You can log workouts and nutrition as a guest, stored only on your device. When you create an account, you can sync that data and access it across your devices.
Is KYDOS free?
The core app is free. KYDOS Premium unlocks advanced features and comes with a 14-day free trial. See the KYDOS Premium section below for details.
How do I create an account?
Open the app and choose Sign Up. You'll provide an email address, a username, and your age. Your age determines which privacy protections apply to your account.
I forgot my password.
On the login screen, choose Forgot Password and follow the email link to reset it. For your security, KYDOS checks new passwords against known breach databases using a privacy-preserving method that never transmits your actual password.
Face ID or Touch ID unlock isn't working.
Make sure biometric unlock is turned on at Settings > Security. If it stops working after an OS update, toggle it off and back on to re-store your secure session. KYDOS never receives or stores your biometric data — authentication is handled entirely by your device.
Why was I asked for my age, and what are the age requirements?
KYDOS is intended for users 13 and older (16 and older in the EEA and UK). Accounts for users aged 13–17 automatically have added protections, including Stealth Mode, which cannot be turned off on a minor account.
I can't log in or my session expired.
Confirm your email and password, and that your device has an internet connection. Authentication tokens expire periodically for security — simply log in again. If you still can't get in, email contact@kydoshealth.com.
What's included in KYDOS Premium?
Premium unlocks features such as the Route Builder, smart hydration adjustments, advanced strength analytics, and additional training tools. Your core tracking, Glory Index, and streaks remain free.
How much does it cost, and is there a trial?
KYDOS Premium is $6.99 per month or $49.99 per year, with a 14-day free trial. Apple or Google processes the payment under their own terms.
I subscribed but Premium isn't active.
Make sure you're signed into the app with the same account, and into your device with the same Apple ID or Google account you used to purchase. Then use Restore Purchases (below). Entitlements can take a moment to sync.
How do I restore a purchase?
Go to Settings > KYDOS Premium > Restore Purchases. This re-checks your subscription with the app store and reactivates Premium on your account.
How do I cancel or get a refund?
Subscriptions are managed by the app store, not inside KYDOS. Cancel from your Apple subscription settings (Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions) or Google Play subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
I referred a friend but didn't get my free month.
The promotional month is credited after your referred friend creates an account using your link and subscribes to KYDOS Premium. If both happened and you still don't see it, email contact@kydoshealth.com with the details.
How do I connect my Apple Watch and health data?
When prompted, grant HealthKit permission. KYDOS reads activity, heart rate, sleep, and other categories from your iPhone and paired Apple Watch. You can adjust this anytime at iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > KYDOS.
My Activity Bars or health data aren't showing.
Open iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > KYDOS and confirm the categories you want are enabled. If they were off, turn them on and reopen KYDOS so it can sync.
Why didn't I earn Glory Points for my sleep or active energy?
Glory Points from sleep and active energy require an Apple Watch as the verified data source. Manually entered values don't qualify, by design, to keep the leaderboard fair.
My Cardio Recovery isn't recording after a workout.
Cardio Recovery needs a few conditions to be captured. For the best results:
How do I set up KYDOS on Android (Health Connect)?
Grant KYDOS access in Health Connect. You can review or revoke specific data types anytime at Health Connect > App Permissions > KYDOS.
Does KYDOS write my completed workouts back to Apple Health or Health Connect?
Yes. When a workout ends, KYDOS automatically saves it to your device's health store — Apple Health on iOS and Health Connect on Android — so the session appears in your health record and any connected apps. No other data is written. You can revoke the write permission at any time in your device's health settings.
How do I revoke health access entirely?
iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > KYDOS. Android: Health Connect > App Permissions > KYDOS. Revoking does not delete data you've already logged.
My GPS route was inaccurate or didn't save.
Make sure location permission is granted and you have a clear signal when you start. Note that with Stealth Mode on, routes are intentionally never sent to our servers and completed workouts are saved only to your device.
What is surface type tagging?
You can tag a workout as trail, road, or mixed. This lets KYDOS compare like-for-like efforts so your pace and records are measured against similar terrain.
My personal record or one-rep max didn't update.
Confirm the session saved completely and the lift was logged with weight and reps. Records recalculate from your logged history; if something looks off, log out and back in to force a resync.
What are Live Activities and Ghost Pacing?
During an active workout, KYDOS can show live metrics — elapsed time, distance, pace, and your Ghost Pacing delta — on your iPhone Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. This display stays on your device. With Stealth Mode active, it collapses to a minimal view.
Can I import workouts from other apps or devices?
Yes. You can import historical activities using GPX or TCX files, and they're treated just like activities recorded in the app. A direct Import Strava Data feature is planned for a future update.
What is Ghost Run?
Ghost Run lets you race against a previous version of yourself on the same route. When you start a run on a saved route, KYDOS overlays a "ghost" — a replay of that past effort. Your live position is shown in gold; the ghost shows where you were at that same moment during the reference run. The Ghost Pacing Delta tells you exactly how far ahead or behind you are in real time.
How do I start a Ghost Run?
From the Track tab, choose a saved route that has a previous run recorded on it. You'll see an option to race that run. You can choose to chase your last effort or your best-ever effort on that route.
What is "Chase Your Glory"?
When you start a Ghost Run, you select which past effort to race against. "Chase Your Glory" refers to racing your best-ever performance on that route.
What does it mean to catch the ghost?
If your Ghost Pacing Delta closes to zero and goes positive, you're ahead of your reference run — you've caught it. Beat the ghost to the finish and you'll know.
Do Ghost Run results earn Glory Points?
Yes. Winning a Ghost Run earns 10 Glory Points and counts toward your Earn Your Glory total.
What is my readiness score?
Your readiness score is a daily estimate of how recovered and prepared you are to train hard. It's calculated from your recent training load, sleep, and heart rate variability data from your Apple Watch. A high score means your body is ready for a hard effort. A lower score is a signal to recover — KYDOS will say so directly.
Why does KYDOS sometimes say to rest instead of train?
Because rest is part of training. KYDOS Coach uses your readiness to recommend effort levels. If your data says you're under-recovered, the app tells you the truth rather than pushing you into a hole. Your streak is protected on recovery days you're meant to take.
My readiness score doesn't seem right.
Readiness requires Apple Watch sleep and HRV data. Make sure HealthKit access is granted for Sleep Analysis and Heart Rate Variability at iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > KYDOS. Wearing your Watch to sleep for a few consecutive nights gives readiness the data it needs.
What is KYDOS Coach?
KYDOS Coach gives you spoken guidance and cues during workouts. You can choose a coaching personality that matches how you like to train — Sergeant, Pacer, Hype, Minimalist, or Wellness.
How do I change my Coach personality?
Open the Coach tab and select a different personality. The change applies to your next workout.
Can I get coaching through my watch without my phone?
Yes. The KYDOS Apple Watch and Wear OS apps support standalone workouts with full coaching — you can leave your phone at home. Your coach personality and KYDOS Premium entitlement are cached on your watch, so coaching works independently. Connect Bluetooth headphones to your watch for spoken cues.
Coach audio isn't playing.
Check that your device isn't muted, your volume is up, and any connected headphones or speaker are selected as the output. If you use another audio app during workouts, confirm KYDOS has permission to play over it. For standalone watch coaching, confirm Bluetooth headphones are paired directly to your watch, not to your phone.
What is Guardian SOS?
Guardian SOS lets you send an emergency text alert to a contact you choose when you may need help during a workout. A message is sent only when you manually trigger it. Guardian SOS is a best-effort convenience feature and is not a substitute for emergency services. In an emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number) first. Message delivery is not guaranteed. Full details are on our SMS program page.
The Guardian SOS opt-in screen shown to users in the KYDOS app.
How do I set up a guardian?
In your profile settings, open Guardian SOS and enter your emergency contact's name and mobile number. You confirm you have their permission to send them these alerts. You can change or remove your guardian anytime.
My guardian didn't receive an alert.
Confirm the saved number is correct and able to receive SMS. Some carriers delay or filter automated messages. If your guardian replied STOP at any point, they've opted out and won't receive further alerts until they reply START.
What are the weather and air-quality safety alerts?
With location permission, KYDOS shows current conditions — heat, cold, storm risk, and Air Quality Index — on your pre- and post-workout screens so you can train safely. This uses an open weather service and sends only coordinates, no personal data.
How does my guardian stop receiving messages?
They can reply STOP to any alert to opt out, or HELP for assistance. Message and data rates may apply.
What is Stealth Mode?
With Stealth Mode on, your location is never transmitted, completed workouts are saved only to your device, and GPS coordinates are never stored by KYDOS. Your tracking, Glory Index, and streaks still work locally.
How do I turn Stealth Mode on or off?
Toggle it in your privacy settings. On minor accounts (ages 13–17) Stealth Mode is always on and cannot be disabled.
Is my cycle tracking data private?
Yes. Cycle Tracking is strictly opt-in, stored privately in your account, never shared with any third party, never used in community features, and never sold or used to train models. You can disable it and delete all cycle data anytime from your Profile.
Who can see my profile photo and progress photos?
Progress (body) photos are always private to you. Your profile photo is private by default; you may opt in to make it visible to other signed-in users. Minor accounts can never make a photo public, and Stealth Mode reverts your photo to private.
I'm not receiving notifications.
Grant notification permission for KYDOS in your device settings, then confirm the specific alerts you want are enabled in the app's notification settings. If they stopped after reinstalling, re-granting permission re-registers your device.
How do I control which notifications I receive?
Go to Settings > Notifications in the KYDOS app. You can enable or disable each notification type individually — streak alerts, readiness updates, weekly summaries, coach check-ins, and more. Your preferences are saved to your account and sync across your devices.
How do I export my data?
Go to Settings > Privacy & Data > Export My Data to download a copy of everything you've logged.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Profile > Settings > Danger Zone > Delete Account. Deletion is immediate, covers all of your data, and is permanent. We do not retain your personal data afterward.
I'm in the EU, UK, or California — what are my rights?
